Author’s reading with Zbyněk Fišer at ULB

Centre d'Études Tchèques at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in cooperation with the Representation of the South Moravian Region in Brussels are pleased to invite you to the literary evening with PhDr. Zbyněk Fišer Ph.D., an author, translator, professor at Masaryk University in Brno and Czech poet who deals mainly with the theory of creative writing. The evening will be held on 17th November 2016 at 8PM at Maison des Arts at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. The debate will be translated into French.


Zbyněk Fišer

Zbyněk Fišer, the son of Egon Bondy, was born in 1959 in Prague. He graduated in Bohemistic and Germanics at today's Masaryk University in Brno and started his career as secondary school teacher before briefly working in publishing house Atlantis (1990-1992). He currently works at the Masaryk University in Brno (since 1993), serving as the head of the Institute of Czech Literature and Library Studies. His professional interests are, among others, creative writing and translation theory. He has also published two collections of poetry. Zbyněk Fišer will present his book ‘Někde za Truchlovem’, in which he deals with a timeless themes such as domestic violence, injustice, oppression and death.
