„Ride of the Kings Inspired by the Tradition“ exhibition in Brussels

The royal company from Vlčnov will come and maybe the King himself will come too!

The Ride of the Kings is a unique traditional festival in the Czech Republic which is celebrated during spring in the south-east of Moravia. In 2011 it was added to the UNESCO Representative List of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in order to preserve its continuity. This Pentecostal custom takes place last weekend in May in several villages and towns in Moravian Slovakia and Haná. Only in Vlčnov, where it has a tradition dating back more than 200 years, is it held every year.

On Tuesday, May 15, you can experience this remarkable Czech tradition. There are two events which will celebrate the culture of Slovácko Region and will introduce this Czech traditional folk festival to Brussels’ audience.

At 18:00, the King himself will arrive to the European Parliament to open the exhibition "Ride of the Kings: Inspired by Tradition".

When: 15th May 2018 at 6pm

Where: the Bar Area 3D, European Parliament, Brussels

The presentation of the Slovácko Region will continue with an evening featuring cimbalom music, traditional folk costumes and local specialties "Fashion with Impression" from 19:00 in the premises of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU.
