The Christmas time may begin at the annual Czech Christmas concert, this year with the compositions by W. A. Mozart as well as by Czech composers Ondřej Kukal and Josef Suk! Czech Centre Brussels in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Belgium, and the Delegation of the City of Prague to the EU invite you to the traditional concert featuring outstanding musicians – Ludmila Peterková and the Bennewitz Quartet.

During this year's Christmas concert, the vaults of the Gothic church of Notre-Dame au Sablon will resound with the famous Clarinet Quintet in A Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, followed by Josef Suk's meditation and by Ondřej Kukal's Clarinettino. The concert will begin with a harmonic composition dedicated by Mozart to his friend Anton Stadler. The so-called “Stadler Quintet” will blend Mozart's perfect balance of tones with the distinctive interpretation of the leading Czech clarinetist Ludmila Peterková, accompanied by the Bennewitz Quartet of world renown. After that, the Quartet will play the Meditation on the Old Czech Chorale 'St. Wenceslas' by Josef Suk.

Ludmila Peterková’s clarinet will top off the concert with the original score "Clarinettino", dedicated directly to her by the composer Ondřej Kukal. The piece is technically very demanding as it was composed from the violinist's perspective.
