POP AND SHOP: 3rd Edition of European Fashion and Design Market

For the third year, the Czech Centre will participate in the POP AND SHOP European Fashion and Design Market organized by EUNIC Brussels (network of European cultural institutes based in Brussels). Participating institutes cordially invite fashion and design lovers to this European encounter which will take place from 21st to 23rd October 2016 in De Markten. More than 30 talented fashion designers from 7 European countries will showcase their latest works at this sale event in Brussels. Represented countries are the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, the Netherlands and Romania. Visitors will be able to see and buy clothes, accessories, jewellery, bags and much more all reunited by this year’s theme “Upcycling”.

Among the presenting Czech designers you may find:


Metráž aims to change the society´s view on female homelessness through design and fashion. It is a social project which includes workshops for women who found themselves in difficult life situations. Thanks to these workshops they can not only go further with working experiences and abilities, get more motivated and more enthusiastic, they can most importantly get their own job, gain money and their new future. During the festival, you could buy T-shirts with simple but tasteful motifs or choose from their large offer of bracelets.


Gypsy MaMa

Gypsy MaMa is a new fashion brand that combines elements of traditional Roma clothing with current trends. It was created as part of citizens’ association Tripitaka and its aim is to support tolerance and mutual understanding. Two collections marked by colours will offer a huge variety of scarfs, T-shirts or trousers.


Chriss Pola

Ateliers of Chriss Pola rediscover the long-forgotten treasures of design which lead them to simple dressing up for the whole family. They offer carefully handmade products of high quality materials from local factories such as T-shirts, dresses or coats, all with long-lasting, esthetic quality and respect for nature.


Zuzana Veselá

Zuzana Veselá designs a Ready-To-Wear line twice a year, evening wear collections, as well as custom orders. Fabrics and materials are sourced from the UK, Italy and Poland with manufacturing in the Czech Republic and since 2004, she is a designer of original limited collections under the trademark of Zuzana Veselá. She will arrive on the festival with several collections of elegant and colourful dresses, skirts, jackets, blouses or coats.


Mikela da Luka

You cannot overlook the original concept of Mikela da Luka clothing thanks to the refined simplicity with an accent to detail or significant changes in well-established dimensions and geometrical patterns. During the festival, the brand will present its typical long T-shirts or dresses which are suited for daily wearing or exceptional occasions tastefully accompanied by leggings or nylons.
