Lukáš Vondráček, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2016, at Flagey Piano Days in Brussels

In February, fans of classical music can visit the concert of phenomenal Czech pianist Lukáš Vondráček, winner of several prestigious awards and winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2016. The concert will be held on 10th February 2017 at 20:15 in the Studio 4 at Flagey.

Born in Opava, Czech Republic, in 1986, Lukáš Vondráček's musical ability was spotted at the age of two by his parents, both professional pianists. He gave his first concert at the age of four and by now, he has visited 27 different countries giving in excess of 1000 concerts. During his first international tour at the age of 10, he performed at various festivals in the UK and the USA. In the intervening years he gave many recital and concert performances throughout his home country as well as abroad.  In 2001, Lukáš Vondráček was awarded the Hanno R. Ellenbogen Award for the most exceptional young artist in Europe.  In 2010, he won First Prize at the 10th Hilton Head International Piano Competition in South Carolina, USA. In 2016, Lukáš won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium and won himself a large base of fans from all over Belgium. Thus, he returns to Belgium and Luxembourg during the concert season 2016/2017, to enchant those who haven’t had the chance to witness his truly exceptional talent yet.
