He studied JAMU in Brno and worked in the satiric theatre “Večerní Brno” and in amateur Theatre X. The most noticeable era of Golflam’s life was his career in the HaDivadlo in Brno (1978-1993). He was also a director and from 1980’ he has started to act in films and TV series (e.g. Něžný barbar, Vyžilý boudník, Boomerang, Dědictví aneb Kurvahošigutntág and Lotrando a Zubejda). Although Arnošt Goldflam has markedly influenced the Czech and Slovak film culture, he considers his acting career as marginal.
