Author’s reading - Marek Šindelka in Antwerp

 

Literary reading of one of the leading Czech novelist and short story writer will be held on the 22nd September 2016 in Antwerp. Marek Šindelka, awarded the Jiří Orten Prize (2006) and Magnesia Litera for prose (2012), will present his latest book „The Map of Anna“ which has recently been published in Dutch (translation by Edgar de Bruin). The reading will take place at the De Groene Waterman’s bookstore.

> TRANSPOESIE 2016 opening evening: Marlena Braester and Elyesa Koytak
 
The TRANSPOESIE poetry festival is organized for the sixth consecutive year by EUNIC Brussels, the European Union National Institutes for Culture based in the Belgian capital. It officially begins at the end of September, marking the European Day of Languages on 26th September. This year, TRANSPOESIE will organize on this day its first literary evening with two poets – Marlena Braester from Israel and Elyesa Koytak from Turkey at the Instituto Cervantes in Brussels.

> PKO-Prague Chamber Orchestra in Brussels
 
In October, one of the most famous Czech orchestras PKO Prague Chamber Orchestra will perform in Brussels with the world-famous cellist David Geringas, a former student of Mstislav Rostropovich and winner of the International Competition of Tchaikovsky. Geringas will be accompanied by his talented student Dali Gutserieva. Besides the compositions of Joseph Haydn or Robert Schumann, you could listen to the sounds of Dvořák‘s Serenade for Strings. You can experience the concerts on 9th and 10th October 2016 at Flagey.

On the occasion of the Slovak presidency in the Council of the European Union, Muntpunt organizes a festival "Lightning over the Tatras: Nice to meet EU, Slovakia!" which introduces Slovakia, its history and culture. All events will take place from 28th September to 6th October 2016 in Muntpunt at Place de la Monnaie.
